is a scholar and student of negativity. They draw on queer theory, transfeminisms and xenofeminisms, feminist new materialisms, and a background in biology to explore the ways that marginal, counterintuitive, and incoherent lifeways and lifeforms make–and destroy– meaning in literature, art, and culture. Their first book project unites the deconstructive figure of Michel Serres’ “parasite” with biological and theoretical criticism to argue for a kind of negative, antisocial hermeneutics.

They have recently published work in Parasitical Logic in Culture and Society (Bloomsbury, 2026), Unsettling Sexuality (University of Delaware Press, 2024), and in the Los Angeles Review of Books on a genre they’re calling the “New Qweird.” Equipped with a Ph.D. in English, Critical Theory, and Cultural Studies from Indiana University, they’re on the market for a new institutional host.
