artist statement:
Tess is a ceramicist and kiln technician whose work explores the boundary between architectural structure and a biological line. Clay’s vitality as a substance provides a productive and grounding medium to explore how much structure can be imposed, extracted, or removed from form. Their current work largely focuses on usable tableware with unobtrusive but considered design elements, exploring how much formal deviance can be put to real use.
