We’d work well if:
- You are an researcher, academic, para-academic, or independent scholar participating in legitimate* academic, intellectual, or cultural discourses
- *Legitimacy is a deeply contested term: in this case, I just mean that I am happy to help edit your work for anything ranging from academic publication to your substack–but I reserve the right to decline projects placed in venues that don’t contribute seriously and sincerely to larger meaningful conversations happening in our culture.
- You work in fields like English, comparative literature, history, American studies, folklore and ethnomusicology, gender studies, cultural studies, feminist science studies, media studies, critical theory, African American and Diaspora/ Black studies, indigenous studies, or any other humanisitic discipline
- Your work is theoretically inclined, and you’re looking for someone to read your work who doesn’t need you to define “ontological” or “misogynoir,” but also someone who won’t pick an argument with you about your definition just to argue
- You are taking writing in one form and translating it to a different venue, audience, or context (for example, translating a dissertation chapter into a journal article)
- You’re working on a longer, book-length project and want sustained intellectual engagement with the project from an outside reader
- You’ve received an R&R that has you stumped
- You’ve gotten a lot of feedback on your work and don’t know how it all goes together
